Joe Alexander, of Alexander Financial Management, will be in town this week on Tuesday through Friday till noon. Any member of Local 51 retiring this year or considering retiring should call and make an appointment with Joe. Joe has already helped numerous Local 51 members and travels across the state assisting police and fire fighters with their retirement. Joe is well versed in our pension and can answer any of your questions (when is it a good time to retire, should I do the backdrop, what to do with your deferred comp, etc). This service is free and a benefit of being a member of Local 51. Each appointment will last approximately 1 hour and it is highly recommended to have your spouse or significant other there as well. Joe can also assist your spouse with any retirement questions they may have (401k, IRA, teacher pension, etc.) Don't wait till the last minute to start planning. Remember, most of us will live an additional 30-40 plus years into retirement (hard to believe but statistics don't lie).
