Why MDA?

·         Because one third of our children could be stricken with Muscular Dystrophy that’s 1 out of every 3500 children born.

·         Because it cost 1.7 million dollars for research for each child and great strives have been made, right now in Ohio where gene therapy is going on for the regeneration of muscle which has always been said can’t be done; however it is in the testing process proving it can be done.

·         Because Fire Fighters have been doing this for almost six decades and last year alone we raised 21 million dollars nation wide.

·         Because we helped pass the Shawn McKinnis Bill in 2005, allowing us to take to the streets and collect.

·         Because most importantly Shawn was the son of Fire fighter Mckinnis from Odessa FD, Texas.

·         Because of our role in society and our role with MDA we are viewed as the number one trusted profession in America.

·         “ We help MDA and MDA helps us” is has been said well I say help yourselves help MDA.

·         Because we are not in it for the pat on the back or the accolades we are humbled in our nature stay humble but know that each time we are seen out there with our boots in the air and collecting money for MDA we are helping those who sometimes can not help themselves.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank John Concha for the hard work done for MDA and also the intersection coordinators. I would like to ask that you all consider coming out and helping “FILL THE BOOT” for the next campaign.
