    Retired Captain Elmer Green 


    GREEN Elmer Irvin Green passed away September 23 at his home in El Paso after a longtime illness. He was born June 17, 1925 on a Choctaw Indian reservation in Oklahoma. He is preceded in death by his adopted parents Elmer Dow and Osie Annie Green, wife Vivian Jo and ex-wife Mary Angela. He is survived by his ex-wife and a long time friend Joyce Duncan; Sister in-law, Betty Arnett; his children: Sharon(Dennis) Mosqueda, Mark(Dawn) Green and Jennifer(Adam) Wilson; his grandchildren: Brain Mosqueda, Aaron Long, Kyle Gayda, Andrew and Anthony Canale, Kayleigh, Aleasha and Austin Green along with numerous great grandchildren. Elmer had served time in the United States NAVY during World War II, and then in 1958 he moved to El Paso and after 20 years with the City of El Paso Fire Department where he retired as a Fire Captain. He had also worked on the Border Patrol and as a school bus driver for the El Paso School District. His great love and companionship were his Schnauzer dogs, April and Bo. Funeral Service, 12:30pm, Tuesday September 27, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Interment to follow at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery with Full Fireman Honors.
