  • RETIRED LT LORENZO ARELLANO
    Updated On: Dec 16, 2013

RETIRED LT LORENZO ARELLANO Lorenzo "Larry" Arellano Sr July 11, 1950- August 29, 2013 Lorenzo "Larry" Arellano, beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend, went home to be with our Lord on August 29, 2013. He is survived by wife Rosa Emma Arellano, children, Veronica Gregory (Rick), Bianca Arellano Marquez (Roman), Lupita Vasquez (Tony), Larry Arellano Jr., and Rebecca Arellano. Mother Maria (Tita) Arellano, Brother Tony (Lulu), and Sisters Carmela, Martha (Joe), and Irma, as well as six grandchildren, Savannah, Stefan, Samuel, Tinsley, Paisley and Julieta, and ten nieces and nephews. Larry, as he preferred to be called, graduated from El Paso Tech and went on to become a firefighter for the EPFD where he served for 28 years, retiring on December 2002. He then became employed by the Clint ISD as a bus driver, where he made countless friends and touched many students' hearts. First and foremost, Larry loved God, his family, his Harley, his beer and good tequila. He also enjoyed building things and complying with his wife's "Honey Do's list" around the house. He was a man of impeccable character, quiet and reserved, but always ready to lend a hand, advice and a word of comfort to anyone who needed it. He was our rock, an example to follow and our greatest friend. Until we meet again, vaya con Dios y descanse en paz. The Arellano family extends their deepest gratitude to El Paso Fire Department's Rescue 29, Firefighters Union Local 51, Maltese Knights Motorcycle Club, Clint Independent School District and to all friends and family for their words of comfort, food and prayers. The Arellano Family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday, September 5, 2013 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm with Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 pm at Funeraria Del Angel Martin East. Funeral Mass for Larry will be on Friday, September 6, 2013 at 11:00 am at St. Raphael Catholic Parish. Interment will follow at Evergreen East Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to San Juan Diego Church 14520 Montana Ave., El Paso, Texas 79938 in Larry's name. Service arrangements entrusted to the care of FUNERARIA DEL ANGEL MARTIN EAST 1460 GEORGE DIETER DRIVE EL PASO, TEXAS 79936. 915-855-8881. www.martinfuneralhomeeast.com .
