Retired Assistant Chief Charles Kimball

 

KIMBALL Charles Thomas Kimball (Tom), 79, passed away on May 2, 2011 as a beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather. Born Sept. 9, 1931 in Washington D.C. to Col. Edward Albert Kimball and Susan Dorothy Lannon Kimball. Tom served his nation proudly in the US Army during the Korean Conflict with the 2nd Infantry Division. Predeceased by his 1st wife Angela Infante Kimball, of 35 years who died June 26th, 1990, he is now survived by his 2nd wife, Rita Joyce Kimball, married Aug. 21, 1992. He lived in El Paso, Texas and worked 32 years for the El Paso Fire Department from Jan 29, 1955 to June 26, 1986, retiring at the rank of Assistant Fire Chief. Tom was a member of Toastmasters for over 40 years starting in August 1965. In April 2000, he was inducted into the El Paso Senior Games Hall of fame primarily for swimming events at all distances for over 15 years and earning over 150 medals. Tom is also survived by his eldest son Edward Albert Kimball, Fremont, CA, dtr-in-law Laura, grandchildren Jane and Zak; Daughter Susan Dorothy Eyler, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, grandchildren Jennifer, Lisa, Autumn and great-grandchildren, Kanisha, Virginia, Alexa and Angela.; Son David Bryan Kimball and gf Veronica, grandchildren Bryan, Jake, Santana and Ashley; Son Robert Clark Kimball; dtr-in-law Mary, grandchildren Krystal, Robert and Jacqueline. He leaves behind his beloved poodle companions Taffy and Scruffy. Visitation will be May 8, 2011 from 5-9pm at Funeraria Del Angel Martin East Funeral Home, 1460 George Dieter. Funeral Service will be May 9, 2011 at 11:45am at Saint Raphael's Catholic Church, 2301 Zanzibar and Burial to follow at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery at 1:00pm. Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association of El Paso in lieu of flowers if desired.
