You Are An Inspiration To Us All It was one year ago this month that we lost Firefighting Brother and Friend, Kip Hall. Kip served with the El Paso Fire Department for eight years and competed in the Firefighter Challenge every year since 1998. He graduated from Irvin High School in El Paso and Park University. He also served with the United States Army for eleven years and was very involved with the El Paso community. After undergoing surgery and chemotherapy for a brain tumor, Kip competed in his final Firefighter Challenge, in Tyler, Texas, in August 2007. (Click below to view). "That was absolutely amazing," one firefighter said. "He inspired a lot of people with what he just accomplished." After the event, Kip flashed a big grin and said, "I am nothing special. I just wanted to know that I could do it, and this makes me feel alive." Nobody on the planet better exemplified the spirit and enthusiasm of Firefighter fitness than Kip Hall. His dedication to improving the lives of trainees, veterans, and civilians was unparalleled. He taught by example and raised the bar for all of us.
