    Retired Lieutenant James Thurston Buckaloo

James Thurston Buckaloo Born March 12, 1930 in El Paso, TX. Married for 63 years to Emma Lou Magers. They have 4 children, Danny, Dwight (deceased), David, Dorothy. He was a grandfather to 17 grandchildren and a great grandfather to 27 great grandchildren. He was a Lieutenant for the El Paso Fire Department for 23 years. As a firefighter he saved many lives and almost lost his own life several times fighting fires. He also worked for United Blood Services for 15 years as a hospital representative. He then volunteered with his wife for United Blood Services. They were on call 24/7 to deliver blood to the hospitals for emergency surgeries and accidents. He always got the blood there on time which meant that those lives were saved also. In 1999 our Dad received the Very Honorable Hildalgo award, for his volunteer work. He was a Hero. Our Dad was a very caring man, gentle, yet very strong. Our Mom was the love of his life. What a great example of true love and devotion he set for all to see. They were friends, lovers, soul mates, they were made for each other by the hand of God. He was a Husband. Our Dad loved his children. He was always there for us no matter what, wanting to help in anyway he could. He shared his wisdom, love and strength with his children. He was Our Coach, Our Teacher, Our Hero. He was our Father.
